The liturgy committee, which includes ordained clergy and lay members of the parish,
directs and supports the liturgical ministries of St. Stephen's by:
- Supplying and scheduling lectors, preachers and clergy for Sunday morning worship services every week.
- Providing a full schedule of Holy Week services - Maundy Thursday foot washing,
a three hour service of meditations and music on Good Friday, the Great Vigil of Easter service,
and the Easter service.
- Providing special liturgies for Pentecost, for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,
as well as special occasions such as the Blessing of the Animals.
- Establishing standards and mentoring for lectors and preachers in training.
- Supporting the ministry of musicians for both the traditional Anglican worship services
and the contemporary services.
- Providing appropriate liturgies of Baptism, Healing and the Burial office.
- Exploring innovative additions to the worship services such as new liturgical
language and readings from the Message interpretation of the Bible during Advent.
The members of the liturgy Committee are grateful to all those whose ministries
contribute to our spirit-filled worship services, especially the Altar Guild.
